## Medicine data, made common.

An open network connecting the people who make medicines with the people who build with their data. Started by RxAI. Built for everyone.

### The starting point

RxAI reports an existing collection of 149,000 drug imprint images. That is an image count, not a count of unique medicines or a public-release commitment. Provenance, licensing, product mappings, and release eligibility will be assessed before publication. The real-versus-synthetic breakdown will accompany the eligible release.

### For developers

- Bring one product workflow the data should support.
- Identify the identifiers, image formats, and product-change events your application needs.
- Review the fictional responses in api-preview.json. These are interface examples, not a live service or clinical reference.

### For manufacturers

- Prepare product and package identifiers, both-side reference images, imprint text and symbols, dimensions, color, shape, and effective dates.
- Describe your update feed and how tooling, lots, or product appearances change.
- Establish explicit permissions for hosting, redistribution, and any model-training use.
- Help define useful feedback: missing references, appearance differences, and recognition difficulties. These are not measures of national dispensing, adherence, or market share.

### For pharmacies

- Identify where better visual references would improve your workflow.
- Outline a permitted image-contribution process that excludes patient data.
- Describe how product identity is confirmed before an observation is submitted.
- Bring hard examples and corrections. An image cluster is evidence for review, not automatic proof of product identity.

### What comes next

1. Curate and assess the existing image collection.
2. Publish a rights-cleared pilot with provenance, correction history, downloads, and a modern interface.
3. Pilot manufacturer updates and permissioned pharmacy observations.
4. Return useful coverage and recognition feedback to contributors.

### The open commitment

The intention is openly licensed data, open-source tools, public schemas, and a portable free reference. Specific licenses and release terms will be published with the pilot. Paid hosting, scale, integrations, and support can sustain the project without making the core reference proprietary.

### Current status

This is a marketing and service-design concept. No signup is submitted by downloading this brief; partner onboarding is not live. No patient records should be sent through the concept site. The site is not a medication-identification tool or a replacement for clinical drug databases.
